Are They Dead!? Eric Stitches
The Reanimated

< BACK

Hi, who are we speaking to and how are you on this fine day?
Eric Stitches. I am doin' bloody fine thanks.
Your role in The Reanimated?
Bassist and one of the founding members of the band.
Who completes the band?
Myself, guitarist Adam Alone, drummer Jason Hell, vocalist Jimi Bondage and our new guitarist G.C. Land.
How has the year been for TCG?
Awesome! We have played some of the best shows so far this year and we have finally completed our second album "Fury 58". This has been the best year for the band by far.
What does the coming year hold for the band?
Promoting the new album first and foremost. We will also be shooting a new video for the song "Morningside Mortuary" as well as releasing a DVD by summer hopefully. We will also be touring a lot this year which we are all looking forward to. We are a live band. We thrive on the road and it's where we love to be. In addition, we will be working on a split E.P. with fellow Cincinnati horror band Shriek as well. We have a long year ahead of us.
How much does horror influence your song writing?
It really depends on what influences us at the time. We are all just a bunch of nerds really. We all love horror, sci-fi, comic books etc. If we see or read something that inspires us, we write a song about it. We have never strictly kept our songwriting to horror because that's what people would expect. We write about all kinds of stuff we like. Hopefully people like it as well. We have a couple of songs on the new album that are comic book related. We just write what we like. Most of it is horror related because that's what we all love but we try not to limit what we do. A lot of horror bands out there hate being labled "horror punk" and I never understood that really. I am actually proud to carry that label. If it walks like a duck ya know.
Who are you favourite horror monsters?
Oh I'm definatly a werewolf and a scarecrow guy. haha. I have a deep love for werewolf and scarecrow flicks. Dog Soldiers is one of my favorite movies of all time. Our guitarist Adam is more into the vampire stuff and our singer Jimi is more into the super creepy shit like the Hellraiser type of stuff. We all have our favorites. We all agree that zombies are boss tho.
What are your releases to date?
Self titled E.P. released in 2007. First full length "Scream At The Screen" released in 2008. Second full length "Fury 58" released in 2009.
Favourite Reanimated song?
Tough call. We really haven't written anything I don't like. I guess if I absolutely had to choose I would have to say "They Live". It's a song I've definatly never gotten tired of playing. It's a great song.
Do you like to resign to the backstage or get among the fans?
Oh definatly out with our people. We can't possibly know what our fans like or dislike unless we communicate with them. I absolultely love our fans. They are amazing and VERY honest. We need that from them. It's how we thrive and make them happy. From the second we get to a show till the second we leave we are talking to our fans. Playing a show is a social interaction. I don't understand why a band would hide and not mingle and party with the fans. They are the reason your there after all.
Thank you very much for you time. Any last words?
Thank you for all the support Scare Waves has shown us. We are all big fans of yours and we appreciate what you guys do here.
